Sociolinguistics of globalisation, language use and space, and English as a global language (particularly with respect to questions of nationalism and transnationalism, and religion, and in connection with power and identity); computer-mediated communication (particularly with regard to disagreements, power, and methodology); and sociolinguistics (particularly in connection with educational inequality).
